THE MAKING OF

Clay: If you imagine you can find it all around the world. Made out of water and earth.

All different kind of clays content minerals  such as silicon or iron dioxide. These kind of minerals in clays affect how soft or hard it is to work with. Early pottery was dried in the sun or by a fire. Later potters developed kilns to control the necessary firing conditions.

Can you imagine how old this craft is? Ceramic objects permitted early cultures to make containers that could hold water. This means they could cook foods like vegetables and meats.

Pottery is an art form that grew out of the daily needs of life.

The process of working with clay.

For me it is is really nice to throw different clays on the pottery wheel. It feels like a kind of magic.

To feel the difference and to make object which are shaped by my hands.
