Damask Tablecloth Indigo dyed 2

€ 79,00Prijs

This damask tablecloth is collected at a flea market. This collection oftablecloths have experienced many personal "dinner memories" and have not remained stain-free. Each tablecloth has its own personal story. This tablecloth is ready for a new life. Ready for new "dinner memories" and stains. Don't worry about that, these will add extra charm to your tablecloth. For this tablecloth I used the Japanese folding technique Shibori. To create a pattern.

The outlook of each detail in the tablecloth can be different cause of the fabric. ) It gives it a lively and natural look.

The damask weave pattern is in each tablecloth differently. And the indigo adapts there differently. Only one tablecloth available.

fabric: 100% Cotton

size: 107 x 1145

Be sure you wash it seperately or with dark colours.

Indigo colour can fade a little bit after washing.

To enjoy your tablecloth for as long as possible: Don't use detergent with bleach. And wash it at 30 degrees.

In order not to let the tablecloths end up on the huge mountain of textile waste, I, Greetje Lubbers of GreatCeramics, rescued them and gave them a new life. I dye the tablecloths with natural Indigo. I use an Indigo from the south of India. It is a natural dark blue dye obtained from the Indigofera tinctoria plant. Dyeing with natural indigo is a process in which the dye adheres to the textile by means of reduction. The textile comes out of the dye bath yellow/green and slowly turns blue. By repeating this reduction process over and over again, the colour can vary from a bright blue to almost black-blue. Some damask tablecloths are dyed plain and others are dyed with Japanese Shibori patterns. The stains from the past affect the dyeing process, they can give darker or lighter stains.
